1) How does Home-XP work?
We have two types of advertisements on our website, some with online reservation facilities, some without. For those with online reservation, please follow the on-screen instructions to make your reservation. For the others please contact the property owners directly to confirm availability and prices.
As we are not a booking agency, please do not email us asking if a property is available. We do not hold the property availability details ourselves.
 
2) I would like to have some additional information on a property. Is that possible?
For properties with online reservation facilities, enquiries can be made in the reservation form. The other property owners can be contacted directly using the contact form at the bottom of the property details.
 
3) Can you recommend a property to me?
We are not in the position to recommend any properties. The site is specifically designed to allow visitors to browse easily through our range of holiday homes and to make a choice. For further enquiries, please contact the owner.
 
4) I get no results from my search. What is the problem?
Try to make your search less strict. It is advisable to fill in a minimum of fields, to avoid missing out on your ideal holiday home.
Should the result list be too long, click again on the search item in the menu to specify more requirements (your previous search criteria will appear again, you'll only need to refine).
 
5) Can I save my favorite property details to look at again?
This is possible indeed. Click on the check box 'My Selection' on top of the property details. To look at your selection again, click on the item 'selection' in the menu.
 
6) How are the properties sorted out in the rental list?
The properties are displayed in random order but you can be sorted out according to persons or price as well by clicking on the header on top.
In case you entered a minimum or maximum price in the search criteria, properties are automatically sorted out according to price.
 
7) Sometimes a special notation (e.g persons: '3 - 4/12') appears in the result list. What does this mean?
The accommodation is suited for 3 to 4 people, but in combination with other properties from this owner on the same location (or close by), this can be extended up to 12 people.
 
8) Are the prices on weekly or daily basis?
Unless mentioned otherwise, all prices are on a weekly basis except from Bed & Breakfast accommodations. In that case prices are specified per room and per night.

1) How do I advertise on Home-XP?
To advertise your property on Home-XP you need to register first. Then follow the instructions on the screen to enter your property details in the online data form and to upload your pictures.
If you are already registered, please login directly with your username and password.
 
2) Can I still change my property details and pictures once I have submitted them?
At any time and free of charge, you can adjust and delete your property details or add new pictures.
Just log into our website and click onto the property picture. You will then enter your property details where you can make the required adjustments. Please do not forget to click on the Save button at the bottom afterwards.
Should you want to change your pictures, click on the item 'pictures' on top of the property details and follow the instructions on the screen. To replace a picture, just upload a new picture to where the old picture was previously and this will over-write the previous image.
 
3) Some of my customer details (e-mail, telephone number) have changed. Where can I adjust them?
Log into our website, click on the item 'Customer details' in the next window and make the required adjustments. Please do not forget to click on the 'Save' button afterwards.
 
4) I have problems uploading my pictures. What is wrong?
The pictures might be too large to upload, each picture must have a maximum size of 512kb (preferably 270x180 pixels). Should you keep on struggling to get your pictures into this format, you can email them to us at info@home-xp.com referring to the name or the reference number of the property.
 
5) Will I be extra charged for adding translations myself?
No, you have the possibility to add your own translations, without any additional charges. Only if you want Home-XP to make the translations for you, an extra charge will be made. Click here to see our rates.
 
6) How do I pay for my advert?
You pay by wire transfer.
After submitting your advert, you will automatically receive an e-mail containing all necessary information for payment.
 
7) When will my advertisement be published on your website?
As soon as payment has been received and cleared, your advertisement will appear on our website and further instructions will be given to start possible translations.
Please note that advertisements paid with wire transfer take longer before getting published.
 
8) How are the properties sorted out in the search result list?
The properties are displayed in random order (weekly refreshed) but the visitor can sort out according to persons or price as well by clicking on the header on top.
In case a minimum or maximum price is entered in the search criteria, properties are automatically sorted out according to price.
 
9) How can I increase the success of my advertisement?
A successful advertisement often depends on a combination of several factors (price, country or region, several similar properties on the website, ...). But you can already keep the following tips in mind:
• Make sure you add attractive pictures from good quality (preferably taken on a sunny day). Good pictures get people interested to click on your property details.
Try to give a good impression of the size of the rooms and outside areas.
• Give clear but briefly descriptions that inspire people to start dreaming of spending their holiday at your property. Avoid typographic errors or text in capital letters.
• Keep your prices up to date and make use of the possibility to enter these prices in detail.
• Make free use of our availability calendar and keep it up to date.
• Add your last minutes or special offers to our website. This is free of charge as well.

12) Can you explain how to enter last minutes?
Log into our website and click onto the property picture. You will then see your property details where you can select the item 'last minute' on top of the page. Enter your last minute or special offer here, which you can change at any time.
 
13) I have several properties, is there a way to emphasize on that?
When advertising several properties, the following message will automatically appear in the property details of each holiday home: "This owner has several holiday homes" followed by an overview of the other properties. The visitor can click on one of the items and enter the details of that particular property.
 
14) How can I make clear to the visitor that some of my properties can be rented as one entity but are separately available as well?
You need to link them up by means of a hyphen in the name of the properties. In that case, make sure the text before the hyphen is identical when entering the properties.

Example:
Property 1, 4 to 6 people, name: La Maison - Jaune
Property 2, 3 tot 5 personen, naam: La Maison - Rouge

Appearance in the rental list:
La Maison - Jaune, persons: 4 - 6/11
La Maison - Rouge, persons: 3 - 5/11

This way the linked properties in the example will not only appear in the result list of a property search for 4 people but also in a property search for 10 people.
So when 2 or more properties can be rented as one entity (e.g. several houses or bungalows on the same estate) it is interesting to advertise them separately and link them up afterwards. This way the properties will appear more often in the search results.

15) Where can I look at the statistics of my property?
Log into our website and click onto the property picture. You will then enter your property details where you can select the item 'subscription' on top. You will find the statistics on the bottom of this page.
 
16) I have entered my web address correctly but it does not appear in the property details. Can you help me?
When entering your advertisement, you probably forgot to tick off the (payable) option 'Link to own website' (charge: €5). To activate this option, please contact us at info@home-xp.com.
 
17) I forgot my password, what now?
Go to the login window, click on 'Password forgotten?' and fill in your e-mail address. You will automatically receive an e-mail with your username and password.
 
18) Who do I contact for questions that don't appear in the FAQ?
In that case please contact us at info@home-xp.com. We will try to answer your question as soon as possible.
