DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN

The village of La Reid-Theux lies in the northeastern part of the Ardennes, 30 miles south of Liege and 9 km north of Spa. This free-standing villa is located on the edge of a nature area where you can find the source of the spa's water. The famous caves of Remouchamps are only 5 km away and are an absolute must during your stay. The spa town of Spa is back to its old glory and offers the opportunity to visit the resort or do a bit of shopping. The region offers ample opportunity for outdoor sports or simply hiking or cycling. The village is situated at an altitude of about 500 meters, so there is usually enough snow in winter for cross-country skiing. From the villa you have a magnificent view of the surroundings. Furthermore, the owner has created a cozy atmosphere with candlesticks and chandeliers everywhere.

This villa is suitable for a maximum of 12 adults and 2 children. The entire living space is 200 square meters. The layout from the ground floor: hall; hall with separate toilet; kitchen with access to the terrace; small dining area. The kitchen has a 4-burner halogen cooker, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher and is completely equipped for the number of guests. There is a beautiful bright living room with doors which open to the garden. The living room also has a dining area, a bar with a stereo, comfortable sitting area, color TV, DVD player, and fireplace. There is a laundry room (extra bedroom)with shower, washing machine, and dryer. The house has a separate sitting area and a two-car garage with table tennis, extra refrigerator and freezer. On the 1st floor the villa has a bathroom with tub, shower, wash basin and toilet. There are three bedrooms each with one double bed and one single bed. The fourth bedroom has a double bed. Deck beds and pillows are available. You must bring your own bed linen, bath- and kitchen towels. Outside, you will find a terrace on three sides of the apartment, with a lot of garden furniture. There is a covered sauna outside next to the house! Within the fenced garden (1500 m) there is a stone barbecue, a climbing wall, a swing in a cherry tree and everywhere you will find small sitting areas. A child bed and 2 high chairs are available. Numerous games and books are also available.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES

The villa is a great starting point for sporting and cultural excursions. Canoe trips, swimming, golf, trout fishing, skiing, cross-country skiing, cycling, mountain climbing and hiking are among the many possibilities. In La Reid is a wildlife park with wild pigs and deer - very nice for children and adults. The Ardennes consists of hills with heights of 500 to 600 meters, covered by vast forests. Deep river valleys and steep crags give the Ardennes, mountainous, which is a major draw for both nature lovers and sports enthusiasts. The landscape is characterized by forests, steep crags (for mountaineering) and rivers (canoeing and kayaking). The Ardennes is an ideal tourist area, not only for nature lovers, but also for those who seek an active vacation. Take a trip to Waals-Brabant (Brabant), the rear garden of Brussels, with green valleys and fields, friendly people and beautiful monuments, including highlights such as the Abbey of Villers-la-Ville and Waterloo. No matter where you are, you can taste the regional beer and local cheese. Suggestions for trips in the area include: an adventurous kayaking trip down the Lesse; the beer route (with more than 140 breweries, restaurants and bars); and the castle of Modave, a very beautiful castle furnished in the style of the 17th Century and situated in a park of 450 ha. Other musts are the caves of Han, which, since 1 April 2006, offer a new attraction. You can use your camcorder while exploring underground tunnels. The results can be viewed on a giant 3D screen- a whole new experience! This can also be found in Aywaille Monde Sauvage, where you can drive or go for a walk. In the vicinity you will also find the caves of Remouchamps or you can visit the city Coo, where you will find a waterfall and the Plopsaland adventure park.
