DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN
This apartment is located in Medendorf, a small village which lies at an altitude of 560 meters, in the Belgian-German Hoge vein-Eiffel nature park. Here you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet! In the garden, which has a large terrace to the south, you have a very beautiful view of the small villages from the Our Valley to the Snow-Eiffel. From the apartment, located on the edge of the vast Ommerwalds, you can hike or bike directly into the natural surroundings. Around Medendorf there are many hiking, cycling and mountain bike routes. If you like you can take one of the many marked hiking and bike paths such as the GR56 trail or bicycle routes through Amsterdam-Rome, Trier Tilburg and Maastricht-Luxembourg. For mountain bike enthusiasts there is a regional mountain bike network with a total length of 850 km. Bicycle racers can try the bicycle hub network with a length of 850 km. For the true adventurers there are plenty of possibilities to choose from. At Easter, Pentecost and Ascension there are revised rental periods. For the exact periods please refer to our conditions.
This recently renovated, free-standing house is suitable for a maximum of 20 persons and has its own parking. The apartment has a four-person (two bunk beds) and eight two-person bedrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with a sink with hot and cold running water. One bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. For the other bedrooms there are 3 showers with thermostat-controlled taps and 3 toilets located in the hall. There is a separate bathroom with shower and toilet which is suitable for wheelchair users. The spacious living area of 95 m2, with floor heating, is made up of an open kitchen, a large dining area and a large living room with comfortable sofas and chairs situated around a fireplace. There is a TV with VCR and DVD player as well as a stereo and children's play corner. In the kitchen there are 2 refrigerators, freezers, a microwave, a large 5-burner stove with oven, as well as other kitchen utensils. If you do not feel like cooking, you can have meals supplied. There is a large terrace (about 100 m2) located on the south-side which has a barbecue. On the lawn in front of the terrace there is playground equipment for the children. To the left of the terrace there is a second grassy area which is suitable for volleyball or badminton. On the other side of the building there is a meadow of approximately 1500 m2, suitable for other activities. All rooms are located on the ground floor and have no door thresholds making them very suitable for wheelchair users. For groups of more than 20 persons there are an additional three two-person rooms in the nearby main building of the old farm. SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES
Medendorf, which has no more than 15 houses and farms, is located in the Belgian-German nature park of Hoge vein-Eifel, an unspoiled area with numerous hiking and mountain bike routes. Due to its high altitude you will find many rivers, including the Warche, Amblève and Our. Canoes can be rented at the lakes of Robertville and Bütgenbach, and here you will also find many swimming pools and water sports activities - ideal for children! For trips there are numerous possibilities. For example, there are the lively towns of Malmédy and St. Vith; the waterfalls of Coo; and the caves of Rémouchamps. Directly across the border, in Germany, you can visit the zoo of Hellenthal; swim at Vulkamar; and tour picturesque towns like Monschau and Kronenburg, the latter with ancient castle ruins. A little further away you will find the cities of Aachen and Cologne; Phantasialand amusement park; various lakes and small volcanic peaks of the Eiffel; the ancient Roman city of Trier ad Mosel; and Luxembourg.
