DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN
This stone-built bungalow for 6 persons is located in a quiet park on the edge of a nature reserve called "Vallei van de Ziepbeek", a bit south of the "Mechelse Heide" and east of the "Limburgse Kempen" (only 10km from Maastricht). The dominant color in the park is green, as you would expect in a nature reserve. Variation is brought in by some fishing ponds and a large lake. A part of the lake is reserved for swimming and sunbathing. The park also has a restaurant with outdoor terrace. In addition to water sports such as swimming, surfing and fishing, there are other sports available in the area. You can go horseback riding, play tennis or of course hiking and cycling. Because of the central location of the park it is easy to make day trips to neighboring countries or take tours along the Mergelland route or Haspengouwe route. You can do a bit of shopping in Aachen, Hasselt or Maastricht. Boat tours along the Meuze are also a possibility.
This bungalow is suitable for a maximum of 6 persons. The interior is as follows: a large living room with a fireplace and color TV; dining area with 6 chairs; an open kitchen equipped with a 4-burner gas cooker and fridge with freezer; and three bedrooms, one furnished with single beds, one with a bunk bed and the third with a double bed. All the beds are equipped with duvets and pillows. The accommodation is accessible with a standard size wheelchair. There are no thresholds in the accommodation. The bungalow however is not adapted to handicapped guests. The bungalow is centrally heated by gas heating. The bathroom has a shower, wash basin and toilet. The furnished terrace is situated on the side of the bungalow.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES
The bungalow park is situated between Lanaken and Maasmechelen (Belgian Limburg), in the town of Rekem, in the heart of a rare, beautiful nature reserve, with forests, fens and fishing ponds (only 10km from Maastricht and 20km from Valkenburg). Behind the park there is a [horse] riding academy. From the park you can visit the castle of Rekem, the children's farm of Neerharen or the swimming pool in Lanaken. Of course you can also visit the city of Maastricht with its lovely restaurants and bars. Liege, Aachen and Antwerp are also well worth a visit and are not too far from the park. Nature lovers and cyclists will enjoy the "Mechelse Heide" (The heath of Mechelen). You can enjoy a more active holiday kayaking on the Meuse River or with some indoor go-carting in Maasmechelen. Be sure to visit the well-known Gaiapark (zoo) in Kerkrade (40km).
