DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN
Nearby Prague and a regional city and yet still in the quiet Czech countryside. And all this in a wonderful renovated (2008) chalet! Around the house there is an enclosed garden of 800 m2 which contains many fruit trees and from where you have a magnificent view of the valley. Here you will also find two terraces, 1 of which is a bit higher and has a swing. The other large terrace is located next to the house and has teak furniture. There is a lockable garden shed for storing things like bicycles. The large stone fireplace is great for an evening BBQ. Because of the height variances in the garden, there are a number of steps with handrails. The garden is also sufficiently lit at night. 200 meters away there is a protected part of the Labe River (Elbe) which is suitable for fishing, water sports, swimming or sunbathing. The accommodation lies near the main road to and from Prague, adjacent to a bus stop. The city of Mělník begins just 200 meters away and the nearest bar, restaurant and nightclubs are within walking distance. There are two parking spaces on the private, secluded area. A suitable accommodation for 4 adults plus 2 children. This recently renovated chalet is simple yet tastefully furnished to Western standards. All rooms have wooden floors and offer a view of the valley. In the living room you’ll find a sofa, dining table with 4 chairs and a TV with video and DVD / CD player. The simple kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances including a toaster, 2-burner stove, kettle and microwave. Of course there are also sufficient cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. In each of the two bedrooms you’ll find two single beds that can be pushed together if desired. The modern bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet. Even small children have been thought of as there is a playpen, highchair, 2 cribs and a baby bath available (for a small fee). The accommodation is not suitable for disabled persons. The children can sleep in cots or on the (sleeping) couch in the living room.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES
For healthy outdoor activities there are woods all around, and from the site you can go hiking or biking where you are sure to encounter deer. 200 meters away there is a protected part of the Labe (Elbe) River that is very suitable for swimming or fishing. In the adjacent town of Mělník, 1.3 kilometers from the home, there is a large indoor and outdoor pool with slides and other attractions. The Bohemian Paradise with its stunning rock formations is just 30 minutes away by car. Other attractions nearby: the historic wine town of Mělník with a beautiful square and many historical landmarks including a 14th century castle with wine tasting opportunities in the cellar. From the castle you can see the place where the Elbe and Vltava flow together. In the Peter and Paul Cathedral there is an ossuary (bone vault) which is worth seeing. In the popular area of Kokořín there is a romantic medieval castle with towers and a number of interesting rock formations, caves and rock clusters. Discover the Heritage Museum of Přerov nad Labem which recalls earlier times in the region. There are exhibitions of interiors, Christmas and Easter performances as well as other regular events. Other recommendations: Benátky nad Jizerou (the Venice of the Jizera) with a renaissance-baroque chateau, a museum with objects from Australian Aborigines and a toy museum. The beautiful twin cities of Brandýs nad Labem and Stará Boleslav are also worth a visit. Near Liběchov you’ll find the "Devil's Head”, a monumental sculpture carved into the rocks. The resort town of Poděbrady has many spas with mineral water plus numerous sports and entertainment possibilities. Take one or more trips to the capital of Prague. By public transport it is only half an hour. By car you can reach the nearest metro station in just 20 minutes, or be in Wenceslas Square in the heart of this metropolis in 30 minutes!
