DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN

Standing in grounds of approximately 1 acre, Guinot Bas is a 200 year old stone barn of substantial proportions. It has recently been tastefully converted to the highest standards.

A very spacious house, it offers guests 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom with bath / shower / WC on the ground floor and 2 twin bedded rooms plus a second bathroom with shower and WC on the first floor.

There is a vast open living area with comfortable seating, satelite TV and a wood burning stove. The large dining area offers ample space for 8 people. A fully equipped modern kitchen has all the amenities you would expect to find in your kitchen at home.

Outside there is a private 10m x 5m heated swimming pool with sun loungers, an outdoor table tennis table, bicycles and other "garden games".

The property has spectacular views over the surrounding open countryside and is just a 10 minute stroll from the village of St. Barthelemy d'Agenais where local services are readily available.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES

Guinot Bas is in the department of Lot et Garonne and lies about half way between the rivers Dordogne and Lot.

In the heart of "bastide" country, the area offers a wealth of interesting places to visit. There are numerous sporting activities located nearby including tennis, golf, canoeing, fishing and horse riding. In addition to this, the diversity of wildlife is quite amazing and includes many unusual birds, deer and wild boar.

The famous "bastide" towns - designed to be easily defended from attack - were built by both the French and English during the 100 Years War and many are still almost as they were then.

There are also many prehistoric sites to explore within an easy day trip from Guinot Bas. Early European man evolved nearby and their amazing cave dwellings (including Lascaux) are well worth a visit.

It is of course, a must to visit one or more of the world famous vinyards in the region. Bordeaux, the Medoc, St Emillion, Pomerol, Bergerac and many more are within easy reach and all are awaiting your taste buds. Wine tastings are avaialable at many of the Chateaux.

PRICES AND PERIODS

Guinot Bas is available for a minimum stay of 1 week from Saturday to Saturday.

The rental price includes all linen and towels, water, electricity and taxes together with full use of facilities provided by the owners e.g. bicycles, table tennis etc..

The heated pool is serviced twice weekly during the season and the grass is cut weekly.

The house will be clean when you arrive and we ask that you leave it in a similar state when you leave. A charge will be made if it is not left as you find it.

A deposit of 25% of the rental charge is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The balance together with a returnable damage deposit of € 300 is payable 6 weeks before your holiday.

The damage deposit will be returned within 1 week of your departure.
