DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN
You will find this holiday park surrounded by three beautiful natural areas: the Mepperdennen, with its juniper bushes; the unique landscape of the Geeserstroomgebied; and the stream of Mantingerzand, with its shifting sands where Scottish Highlanders (Highland cows) graze. The "Bronze Bucket", which dates from the Bronze Age, provides evidence that this area was an attractive place to live even in times past. This landmark emerged in an excavation in the Es of Meppen and has given the park its name. The park is adjacent to the village which contains typical thatched-roof Meppen farms and large oak trees. In short, a quiet and green environment. Not surprising the park is popular with hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, athletes, active seniors, nature lovers and those seeking a bit of peace and quiet. The beautiful detached Finnish bungalows of the park lie at the edge of the forest. The bungalows have a veranda on the sunny south side and a large garden with outdoor furniture. Because of their location, they offer lots of tranquility and privacy, while the extensive facilities of the park are still close by. The expanded facilities include: swimming pools, sauna, sports field, beach volleyball, all-weather tennis court, boules court, trampoline, sand drifts, various playing fields, car wash, internet option, bicycle rental and a recreation room (plus grazing deer!).The indoor swimming pool, 10 by 20 meters, has a water temperature of 28 °C. The babypool has a higher water temperature. In the recreation room you’ll find a variety of games like table tennis and football, darts, air hockey and a large screen for video, TV and major sports events. It is practically guaranteed that no one will be bored here! In the winter months the bungalow is a lovely place to spend your holidays with family and/or friends. When there is snow, cross-country skiing through the beautiful Mepperdennen is possible.The swimming pools are open from April 22 until October 28. The outdoor babypool is opened if the weather allows this. The opening hours of the restaurant are depending on the occupation of the vacation park.
The bungalows have a large living room with dining area, bar and open kitchen. The bungalows are fully furnished and fully equipped including a radio / CD player and a TV with cable and DVD player. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed. The other two bedrooms are smaller and contain a single bed. The bungalow for 6 persons has two smaller bedrooms with bunk beds. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. There is also a wardrobe with extra storage. The bungalows have hot air heating, making them a comfortable accommodation even in winter.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES
As a guest of the Bronze Bucket you have free use of the large indoor pool (10 x 20 m) from April until autumn. The 27⁰C water is wonderfully relaxing and children can have fun with the various play equipment. Besides the big pool there is a paddling pool with warmer water for the littlest ones. In fine weather, the sliding glass doors open from the indoor pool so you can relax and sunbathe on the solarium next to the pool. Next to the pool there is a Finnish bungalow which has a sauna, plunge pool and solarium. You can use this space as a family, group or completely private, even in winter. From the sauna there is a private entrance to the pool. For the May, Ascension and Pentecost holidays plus during the high season there is a recreation team present which organizes activities for people of all ages. A selection of the activities that take place: lantern parade, campfires, crafts for children, full day programs and sporting events for adults, kids disco, schatertheater, tents, games and exciting evening ghost tours. The possibilities outside the park are numerous. Horse lovers can visit the nearby riding school which has a large indoor and an outdoor arena. And speaking of sports: in the vicinity you will find several golf courses. The Bronze Bucket is a good place to relax, go for a walk, cycle or enjoy the beautiful surroundings from the back of a horse (There is a network of bridle paths). You can ride along the Mantingerzand nature reserve, through forests, megaliths, moors with herds of sheep and the ancient villages of Meppen and Gees (with its sculptures, Old Aalden, museums and restaurants). If you are in the mood for something else, you can visit the zoo in Emmen, the Assen traffic park or the open-air living heritage villages of Schoonoord or Orvelte. Modern cities like Assen and Emmen are close by and offer a delightful day of shopping. At the Provincial Museum you can even see the original bronze bucket. In short: In Drenthe everything is possible!
