DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN
Right next to the beautiful Drents Friese Wold park lies the De Roggeberg (The Rye Mountain) holiday park. In this pristine area you can go for an endless walk or cycling tour. Along some routes you will encounter traditional sheep herds that help contribute to the management of the heathland area. A special experience is a trip on the Aekinger Sand, one of the largest sand drift areas in Europe. At the center in the holiday park you'll find an aquatic play area for children up to 10 years of age. This aquatic play area is open when the outside temperature exceeds 20 degrees. All guests of The Rye Mountain have free access to the magnificent pool of Appelscha which is situated right next to our center. This has Bosbad and includes a unique water playground. At times our guests have free access to the "Boekhorst" indoor swimming pool in nearby Oosterwolde. Facilities of the holiday park include a restaurant, snack bar, supermarket and a large recreation room.
This detached 3-room bungalow can accommodate up to 6 persons. The layout of the ground floor is as follows: a hall, toilet and living room with an open kitchen which contains a fridge (with freezer compartment), 4-burner stove with fan, microwave and complete dinnerware for the number of persons. The living room has a dining table, a sitting area, color TV, central heating and a wood-burning stove. This bungalow has three bedrooms (downstairs) with six single box spring beds positioned in twin bed arrangement plus a bunk bed. Duvets (single) and pillows are available. Bed linen is included. There is a bathroom in the bungalow which has a shower. In addition, there is a separate toilet. The bungalow has a spacious garden and a private parking place. The total area of the bungalow is 67m2. Outside on the terrace you'll find sufficient garden furniture at your disposal.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES
The Rye Mountain offers recreational activities for all ages. First of all there is a family activity team present from April to October (at weekends and school holidays) which provides fun recreational programs for guests. Then there are tennis courts and table tennis tables present plus the possibility for a variety of sports. There is a children playground and a fossil field and the center has an official 9-hole golf course. In cooperation with Appelscha-Outdoor, The Rye Mountain has a 15-meter-high adventure tower (See also www.klimavontuur.nl). From The Rye Mountain many interesting cities and attractions are easily accessible. For example, in Friesland you can visit a lake and old Zuiderzee towns such as Stavoren, Hindeloopen, Makkum and Workum. Giethoorn and a nearby nature reserve are also worth a trip. The Fochteloërveen has special birds, including the crane. The old culture of Drenthe can be discovered in villages like Orvelte, Westerbork, and Diever Dwingeloo.
