DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN
This is a typical Catalan stone house dating from the seventeenth century. It is part of a group of houses that are situated in a row on a small mound near the church. It has been recently restored so as to offer maximum comfort yet without losing any of its original rustic charm. It has a ground floor and two completely independent floors. The apartment is situated on the first floor. On the ground floor there is the garage and a washing mashine. Mieres, a town entirely devoted to agriculture for generations, is surrounded by mountains and is one of the few places where you can still enjoy peace and tranquility so rare in our times. Its landscapes have been described and exalted by some illustrious figures such as Josep Pla. This typical Catalan farm house has always belonged to the Carrera family. For generations, the family has been dedicated to agriculture. Now, after leaving the farm work, they have decided to restore the house and offer it as a holiday home.They have endeavored to retain its original rustic charm, using solutions that preserve the environment and save energy: double glazing, aluminum windows, heating, a fireplace using air to heat the hall, stone walls, wood ... As expected, the owners show much affection for the house. They have enjoyed very special moments here and hope that their guests also enjoy the natural environment of Mieres and have special moments here like those they have experienced.
This beautiful apartment has an area of 90 m2 and is suitable for up to 6 persons. It has two bedrooms: a master bedroom furnished with a double bed and with a complete bathroom (with bathtub) and another bedroom furnished with two single beds. In front of this bedroom there is another bathroom with a shower. Furthermore, there is a large living room with a kitchen (equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, juicer, toaster, dishes, cutlery, glasses for six people, kitchen linen, plus all the necessary kitchenware). In the living room, in front of the fireplace and TV, there is a table and two sofas, one of which converts into a double bed. This room has French windows offering magnificent views and access to the large terrace where you can enjoy the sun all day long. It also features furniture: an outdoor table with four chairs and two armchairs. On the ground floor there is a common area with a bathroom, laundry and garage.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES
Mieres occupies a strategic location - just 9 km in the direction of Olot lies the "La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone" nature park where you can see and explore numerous volcanoes, visit the "Graders" (the place where the volcanic soil has been extracted) and ride a train. In this area there is also the "La Fageda d'en Jordà", where you can enjoy a spectacular scenery, of which the poet Joan Maragall fell in love and dedicated one of his poems. There are also a number of different activities possible here: balloon rides, carriage rides, hiking, etc. 12 km from Girona lies Banyoles, a city with a natural lake which hosted the 1992 Olympic Games (rowing). Here you can practice a variety of activities like boating, hiking, cycling, fishing, swimming and picnicking. Other places of interest/activities include: Santa Pau, with its medieval village, and the Nature Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone. Hot air ballooning, carriage rides, hiking (9km) - Olot: volcanoes, fountains, museums and parks (19km) - Banyoles: natural lake, arcaded square and the possibility for a variety of activities including biking, boating, hiking, fishing, miniature golf and swimming - Les Preses offers the possibility of many outdoor activities like biking, etc. The recreational area of Xenacs (22km) - Vall d'en Bas: charming villages (25km) - Besalú: Romanesque bridge (28km) - Castellfollit de la Roca: "Cingles" basalt rock (30km) - Gerona: monuments, "barri Jueu", museums, shopping (30km) - Figueres: Dali Museum, the Joguina (52km) - Marshland region of l'Empordà Natural Park (bird reserve), beach (60 km) - Ruines d'Empúries: Iberian village, beach (58km) - Cap de Creus: beach, Cadaques, Port Lligat (70km) - Nature Park of Illes Medes: beach, protected area, diving (50km) - Vallter 2000: skiing (65km) - sightseeing in Barcelona (127km). There are cheap flights to Barcelona and Gerona-Costa Brava from where you can easily reach the property.
