DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN

This stylish and luxurious private chalet occupies an idyllic location on the outskirts of the resort/commune of Haute-Nendaz. Situated at an altitude of 1550 meters, on the south side of the Rhone Valley, the chalet is right in the midst of the Swiss Alps - ideal for a relaxing holiday, with lots of activities available in the immediate vicinity. This detached cottage is surrounded by a wonderful natural environment and lies adjacent to a small mountain stream, alpine meadow and upland forests. From the well-furnished and sunny terrace you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Alps, Rhone Valley and Sion (the pleasant capital of Valais) until late in the evening. Around the chalet children can safely and freely play amidst nature. A paved dead end road leads from the center of the village to a wide walkway, where the chalet is located. You can bring your car to within 75 meters of the chalet (with a 4x4 vehicle you can go to 15 meters). The chalet has two private parking spaces at your disposal. From the chalet you can walk to your parking space in just a few minutes and then in 15 minutes (or 2 minutes by car) to the heart of Haute-Nendaz where you will find numerous shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes plus tennis courts, a swimming pool and sports center. All in all, an oasis of peace and quiet and a great starting point for beautiful mountain hikes, mountain bike tours and exciting excursions. Ideal for families.

This attractively-designed luxurious chalet with 120 m2 of living space (which includes 4 bedrooms) can accommodate up to 8 persons. At the entrance you’ll find a living room, dining area and a well-equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, dishwasher, 4-burner electric stove, fridge with freezer, utensils). The chalet is equipped with a flat screen TV, DVD player, CD / music system, WiFi ADSL internet access, iPod docking station, a selection of old-fashioned family games, books and some DVDs and CDs. There are three bedrooms located on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with sturdy bunk beds (195 x 90cm) while the third bedroom has a double bed, TV with DVD player and a desk. All bedrooms are spacious and have (built-in) cabinets and opening windows or doors. There is 1 bathroom with a shower, toilet and double sink. Finally, there is a utility room equipped with a washer and an extra refrigerator. Upstairs there is a spacious master bedroom furnished with a double bed, dressing table with mirror and built-in wardrobes. As of the 2010 winter season there is also an en suite bathroom. The garden (700 m2) has a terrace of 20 m2, a large dining table flanked by benches, chairs, garden chairs and a barbecue. In the summer the sun shines from early morning until 9 pm.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES

The chalet is located on the outskirts of Haute-Nendaz (within walking distance), where you will find lots of activities and facilities (including an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts). Typical summer, autumn and spring activities include: hiking, swimming, tennis, climbing, golfing, ice skating, paragliding, a spa and city excursions. From the chalet you can directly access more than 250 km of (marked) trails. There are 98 km of trails suitable for hikes with small children. Thee gondola lifts are open year round for hikers and mountain bikers. Mountain bikes are available for free. There are 9 well-marked mountain bike trails with a total length of 200 km. There are also challenging cycling trails which meander their way through vineyards and traditional mountain villages. Or what about glacier hiking, rock climbing walls (with ladders and ropes; in Nax), mountain cabin tours, etc? Furthermore, there are no less than six golf courses located within 25 to 60 minutes from the chalet. Nearby you can swim in a heated outdoor pool or go paragliding, canoeing, rafting or horseback riding, or even play tennis. Saillon (25 km) has thermal baths and wellness facilities. Sights abound. From March to November you can take a sailboat excursion in the underground caves of Lake St-Leonard, situated between Sion and Sierre. The 285-meter-high dam of Grande Dixence, located at the end of Val d'Hemerence, is one of the largest dams in the world. There are also numerous fairytale-like castles as well as museums which are worth a visit. Sion (13 km), the capital of the canton of Valais, provides the opportunity to enjoy history and medieval castles. This is a lively city with a great Friday market. Definitely worth a visit are the posh towns of Verbier, Crans-Montana and Zermatt as well as the cities of Montreux, Lausanne, Gruyere, Bern (a UNESCO world heritage site) and Milan (2.5 hours by train).
