DESCRIPTION & HOUSE PLAN

"Le Virinal" : A holiday house for max. 11 persons or max. 16 persons.

In a secluded part of the Ardennes a very comfortable renovated farm for 11 or 16 persons with a garden of 5000 m², a large south oriented terrace with barbecue. In the living (dining)-room a choice of books and dvd's will help you to feel perfectly at home near the fire-place while the deer and the wild-boars come out of the forest. "Le Virinal" is a perfect starting point for walking, cycling or playing golf, and the natural surroundings will enchant nature-lovers eager to discover the fabulous treasures of the Ardennes.

A possibility exists to hire a completely equipped adjacent wing of the same house for maximum 5 persons. This part is for hire if your group is larger than 11 persons or if some of you need a quiet place to work, to study or simply to rest. The two parts of the house can be connected by opening two doors. The result is a house for 16 guests. For privacy reasons this adjacent wing of the house will never be rented separately.

SURROUNDINGS & ACTIVITIES

"Le Virinal" is an old farm situated in the least inhabited part of the Ardennes. This means that the possibilities for hiking are endless. If you prefer cycling, lots of small roads will lead you through ancient villages. There are 3 golf courts within 20 km of the house (The Royal Golf Club of the Chateau d'Ardenne, the Five Nations Golf Club in Mean and the Golf Club of Durbuy). Horse-riding for children and grown ups at about 3 km of the house. Canoeing is possible on the river Lesse and on the river Ourthe. In Durbuy you can practice rafting, rock-climbing, mountainbike, quad etc. Near Havelange you can go fishing for a few euro's per day. The most beautiful caves are in Han-sur-Lesse where you can also visit a large safari-park with lots of exotic animals. In the wonderful castle of Lavaux-Sainte-Anne there is a Nature- and Hunting- exhibition. In the Domaine Provincial de Chevetogne there are, apart from a big outdoor swimming-pool, tennis-lawns, a mini-golf and many activities for children. During the summer there are guided walks in the park with musicians. Nearby is the Greek-Orthodox monastery of Chevetogne (Service sung by the monks every sunday at 10.15 a.m.)

PRICES AND PERIODS

"Le Virinal" is open during the whole year. The house can be booked for a week, a week-end or a mid-week. Everything is included in the price except a deposit of € 200 which must be paid in cash to the caretaker of the house upon arrival and which will be returned on departure if nothing has been damaged in the house. The costs for the cleaning of the house after departure amounts to € 50.
